Refurbishment of the Weissmies Hut
The Weissmies Hut is undergoing extensive refurbishment and will therefore be closed from Sunday, 16. August 2026 at 1 p.m. From this time onwards, overnight stays will no longer be possible.
During the week, the hut warden will be at the hut to cater for the construction workers. Depending on capacity, passing mountaineers and walkers may also be able to enjoy a drink.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly refurbished Weissmies Hut from winter 2026/27.
The SAC Weissmieshütte (2726 m a.s.l.) at the foot of the Lagginhorn - with its breathtaking view - is a popular starting point for a variety of tours on rock and ice.
The hut is easily accessible in summer, even for families with children. In winter, the hut is in the middle of the ski area and invites you to stop off on the slopes and enjoy fine Valais specialities or the famous Cremeschnitte.
It is also the perfect place to stay for a few days in the snow. Family hospitality and beautiful nature will remain in visitors' fond memories.
